Literature Review
The association is strong between poverty and poor cognitive, social, and academic
outcomes for children. The influence of early childhood education on the healthy development and future well-being of children who are economically and socially disadvantaged has become a vital policy concern with important implications for families, communities, business, and government. The early childhood educational experiences of young children are crucial for the development of school readiness skills and later school outcomes. The purpose of this study was to contribute a formative analysis in the area of early childhood literacy interventions for children at risk due to low socio-economic by conducting a review, synthesis, and analysis of current research on the effects of early childhood education on children from lower socio-economic backgrounds.
